Your home on the western coast of Asturias
Villa Playa del Silencio is a whole holiday cottage, newly renovated, in the village of Castañeras, in the municipality of Cudillero. A path from the door takes you to Silencio Beach (Playa del Silencio) in about fifteen minutes on foot: a shell-shaped cove of pebbles framed by cliffs.
This is a place to slow down: breakfast on the terrace looking out to sea, barbecues in the garden and quiet nights. And when you feel like exploring, Cudillero harbour, Luarca, Avilés, Gijón and Oviedo are all a short drive away.

Silencio Beach
A shell-shaped cove of around 500 metres of pebbles and sand, sheltered from wind and noise by tall cliffs. It used to be called Gavieiru, after its gulls, and today it is one of Spain’s largest cormorant colonies.

Cudillero
Colourful houses stacked like an amphitheatre above the harbour, the Plaza de la Marina and its fishing-village feel make it one of the prettiest villages in Spain. It’s about 15 minutes by car from the house.
